It's Sunday, and I was going to post how my 2nd lesson went Friday. However, I got busy and forgot.

I'm thrilled to say that it was as awesome as the first lesson. I told her I've only worked on scales and arpeggios in 2 octaves, so right away she's having me do them in 4 octaves. Not a big deal, but a change I welcome. The thumb passing under is much smoother already. I never noticed what a break there is when I passed the thumb under. It's not huge, but it's noticeable. The exact thing I need a teacher for!
I cracked 2 ribs coughing last week (asthmatic bronchitis), so she suggested that I not sit at the piano for more than 15 minutes at a time. Take a 5 minute break, then return to practice. Sitting is the most painful activity right now. I've finished my course of medications, except for occasional use of the inhaler.
She's taking a vacation in February, and will be gone for 10 days, which includes 2 of my lessons. She said she plans on scheduling extra lessons to make up for those two.
I guess I'd have to say she's the teacher I've dreamed of, and is worth the wait (and yeah, I waited pretty impatiently!). I supposed I'm actually pretty lucky. I searched for several months, and some people never find a teacher they really click with. In retrospect, I'm glad I didn't find a teacher sooner, or I would have missed this opportunity.

Exellent. Two good lessons in a row is quite an accomplishment. Mine are much more sporadically distributed laugh (largely because of my lack of talent!).

Well, Glasslove, I don't know how "talented" any of us are - but you know, at this point of our piano adventure dedication and determination count for a lot, and you've got both of those in spades!

Dlr - I'm delighted for you! Sounds like you've got a real gem for a teacher!

Well, I didn't mean to overlook the fact that you cracked two ribs! I cracked some ribs falling off a horse several years ago - kind of painful for awhile frown How cool that your teacher understands it and suggests ways to work with it. A gem. Hope you're better.
