Has anyone used Richard Starer's method? What do you think of it.

Thanks. smile

I used the book "Rhythmic Training" by Robert Starer many years ago when I was wanting to improve my reading of syncopated rhythm and non standard time signatures. This is the more advanced book which follows on from Basic Rhythmic Training.

I think the book worked well as long as you were prepared to invest the time necessary to do the exercises.

A source I found very useful is "Basic Timing for the Pianist:105 short, short exercises leading to thorough and complete mastery of basic timing problems." It is written by Allan Small and was quite inexpensive. I have really enjoyed working with it!!
