Cheers, James.
I've read many of your previous and often valuable posts - hadn't noticed such a blatant teaser before, though!
(It was worth pointing out my MP3 error. Thanks - not sure where I got that idea from.)
I guess I'll hang it out till the new year and see what's going on then, then. I've already waited 10 years while I got a house to fit the DP in, so it probably won't kill me...

Well, I´m curious now too smile
I think I´ll wait with my purchase till then just to see what it is. But CA63 remains my favourite still.

I have to say this is one of the most helpful forums I have ever participated in. And this post was particularly sympathetic and helpful thank you!

The happy ending was an "ordinary black" Kawai CN 33, purchased with ten months interest free credit (! funded by the Arts Council apparently) from Forsyths. Can't knock that.

thanks to all contributors!

dry_riser, thank you for updating the thread - congratulations on your new CN33!

Regarding the teaser image posted late last year, now that it's January I can reveal that this is actually the CS3, the first model in the 'Classic Series' range of black polish digital pianos from Kawai.

In addition, the CNx3 range has been expanded with the new CN43, which features the MP3/WAV record and playback functionality from the CA93/CA63 and MP10/MP6.

As always, PDF brochures detailing the new instruments can be downloaded from the Kawai Japan website, with the product pages on the Kawai America/Kawai Europe sites due to be updated in the coming weeks.

Happy New Year!

Cheers,
James

Appreciated, KJ.

At the moment (for those who are easily startled by [I'm guessing!] Japanese web-pages) the English-language brochures appear to be at
(CS3) http://www.kawai.co.jp/worldwide/support/catalogue/cs3-e.pdf
and (CNx3 range) http://www.kawai.co.jp/worldwide/support/catalogue/cn-e.pdf.

And it looks like I want the CN43 in polished black frown
Might have to try to get the wife to re-evaluate the satin black.

James: can't drop any more hints about what might be coming in a polished version soon, can you? (Think I saw one about the CA63 earlier - or, you know, that's what I inferred. Not sure I should be spending that much, though...)

Happy New Year yourself.

I'm afraid the CN43 is not available in polished ebony - just the standard Rosewood, Mahogany, and Satin Black finishes.

Sorry, I have to be rather cautious about announcing new instruments prematurely. However, as noted previously, the CS3 is the first of a new range of luxury polished ebony DPs, so expect to see to more models added to the line-up in the coming months.

Cheers,
James

Hahaha.
I was going to wait anyway (is only a week), but thank you a lot for your advise.
You are really kind, always helping people at the forum as much as you can without compromising your company.

Craig,

Thank you for the positive feedback, however regarding your RM3 Grand/UPHI query, I'm afraid I must refer you to my previous response:

Craig,

Kawai presents two new models of the CS series at the Musikmesse, the CS6 and CS9. Both have the RM3 action. The CS9 has the MP10 piano sounds and UPHI.

Bentsch, altrent, product brochures for the new models will be available for download from the Kawai Europe and Kawai Japan websites shortly.

Until then, Kawai Europe's 2011 General Products brochure contains photographs and specifications of the latest instruments, and may be of interest to you. wink

Thanks James!
I don't know how I missed this brochure! smile
Those are very beautiful DPs.
As I see it, only the sounboards and number of sounds differentiate the CS6 and CS9.
I just can't wait to see one in person.

altrent, the recommended retail price for the CS6 is ca. 2900 Euro, for the CS9 4100 Euro (in Germany). Btw, both have the RM3 action with let-off simulation.
