I've made a video - it is the first way I've tried recording the new acoustic - however the file is pretty big, so I'm wondering if there's an easy way to pull out the audio and have it as a listening only file?

Any tips or suggestions?

tks.

Hi casinitaly,

Yes, there are several software programs you can download that will extract the audio off your video and convert it to MP3, or several other types of files.
I’m not at my home computer now, but I think I have the EZ audio converter free trial software. To be honest, the converted audio files sound better in MP3 than on the video file.

Good luck!

Rick

I'll have a look online for the sw.... If I can't figure it out, I'll be back.
Thanks Rick!

(well, actually I'll be back if I do figure it out too, 'cause I want to share the file :J) )

This works well.
http://www.aoamedia.com/audioextractor.htm

Look for the free version, on the right hand side of the page.

Tks Rob - I see it. ....sadly, duty calls and I must do some chores before I can play any more... I hope later today I'll be able to work some magic! If this works nicely I won't have to use the digital feature to record any more,...and that will please me greatly!

So which approach did you use? The audio sounded very good. Any comments on the software as a new user?

Cheryl,
Saw you uploaded to Boxnet. How did you get the Box Net file to Piano World Forum? I have a Box Net Acct., and use Zoom to record, then convert to MP3 with Audacity. Cannot figure out how to get from Box Net to Piano World. Any help greatly appreciated.

I used
http://www.aoamedia.com/audioextractor.htm

because it was a specific link and I didn't have to actually look for anything wink - call me lazy, I don't mind being spoonfed!

It was dead easy to install, the only problem was that the first time I tried converting it, I accepted the default path which was
C:\my audio - but that directory didn't exist, and the sw didn't create it, so it just didn't do anything.
When I changed the destination path to hook in with c:\my music\piano, which already existed, it worked like a charm.

From boxnet, I clicked on "share", which gave me a URL.
I then clicked on "create a link to a web page" - the icon beside the smilies, and pasted the link, then gave it a title.
Hope that helps.

Thanks for sharing. I tried this and it converts so nicely. However I feel the original noise in my video (recorded by a camera) is still there. Do you know how to get rid of it?

I just downloaded the basic free version - in which there don't seem to be options for filtering of any sort. I did notice that the audio of my pieces seems "slightly" cleaner than the video.

Maybe Rob or Rick will have some ideas.

I will chime in just to say that vlc player (freeware) has an option to convert a video only to sound. I did this by mistake trying to convert a video to mp4 and I finished only with the sound...

Good luck with it!
