The finish line is in sight! Mark..., I understand you are passing the baton to Casinitaly this year, so I'd like to take this opportunity to say a big THANKS for running this the last few years.

To Mark,

Even though I only participated this past year, I owe you a large note of gratitude as well! Being part of this group has made my piano even more important in my life. It has definitely made a noticeable improvement in my sight reading and playing but the best part is it helped with my shyness in front of others, including my teacher and fellow classmates. I will be joining this group again in 2011.

Best wishes for a wonderful, safe and healthy Happy New Year to all Piano World members. Linda

Mark, much of what has been so usefully, enticing, and beneficial to me here in the ABF was started by you; the Alfred threads and the MOYD. I don’t imagine I would have stuck to it this long and gotten as far as I have with the piano if it weren’t for these threads. It’s meant more than words can say. Thank you Mark.

Mark

Let me add my voice to the chorus of thank yous that you so richly deserve. I keep a running list of pieces worked on with dates started and completed (or at least completed to my teachers satisfaction). Thanks to you and MOYD that list has just about 50 pieces on it for 2010, which is quite a lot since some were worked on as long as three months and quite a few were a month or more. No way this gets done without the commitment to MOYD-inspired daily practice. I feel pretty good about missing only 2 excused days for the whole year, but feel I could have avoided that if I'd contacted the cruise ship I was on in advance like I will next time.

So, thanks again, Mark.

And thanks in advance for next year Cheryl (Casinitaly).

I would like to add my big THANKS to you too, Mark, for starting and maintaining the MYOD!

As with many others here, if it wasn't for the MYOD, I probably would have skipped some days at the piano. But, because of the MYOD I only missed a few days because of travel, and look forward to 2011.

So, many huge THANKS, Mark!!! [Linked Image]

Since I'm home, I've done my exercises for the day, I'll play some music later. Changing my signature graphic now!

yippie

I did it! I did it! I did it!

Just in case I get carried away celebrating New Year's Eve in front of the DVD player, I played for 5 minutes before breakfast this morning. I'll probably get in a few more minutes of practice tonight, but if I don't, I have fulfilled my committment to play every day except when excused for travel.

Thanks, Mark, for running this challenge this year, and to Cheryl for picking it up for 2011. It really does motivate me to play every day.

Looking forward to creating my sig picture tonight!

Congrats to all of you 2010 MOYD grads. I'm heading over to pick up the graphic since I've finished my practice for the year (wow, that feels pretty cool to say/type ). thumb

Mark, agreed!!!! I have made more progress this year, than I ever have previously on Piano and I have to attribute so much of it to the MOYD! Plus my motivation level to practice has increased more and more throughout the year. MANY thanks, Mark, for all your time and attention to this log, and thanks to Cheryl for picking up the MOYD for 2011!

Happy New Year!
Mark

Last call for MOYD 2010. Thanks everyone for the past years.

Thanks to casinitaly for taking over MOYD 2011, its in good hands. I'll also provide back up if necessary. laugh

As silly as MOYD appears, it really has an impact on those who use it. I hope its made everyone get closer to the dream of being a player.

I'd also like to thanks everyone for their kind words. Your guys are too much.

Thank you again! And Happy New Year!

I have to go now, and sign up for 2011... laugh
