Hi all,

I have posted a piano version of Blackbird from the Beatles (usually played on the guitar) if you want to have a look:

Wow, mozarta; that is really nice. I don't think I've ever heard anybody play this one on the piano and You arranged it very nicely. Hey, can you do a version of "I Will" also by the Beatles? I always liked this song.

Thanks Jasperkeys for your comment, I appreciate it. I just discovered the song I will, and this is a beautiful song (not sure I will make a version of it but I found a piano version on youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O83xA8CclGA).

Thx'

Thanks, mozarta. I watched the video link you provided. That girl sure is talented.
Concerning Beatles piano covers; have you ever heard Christopher O'Riley's version of "Within You, Without You/Blue Jay Way"? I really like his version and if you ever transcribe his version to sheet music, I'll be first in line for it. I'm afraid my ear isn't quite good enough. Thanks.

That's great.
I think Billy Preston did a great version of this, too (I forget the album).
With organ too I think?
Any chance you have a midi file of that?

Mozarta - Very nice (I left a comment on your YouTube channel). I also did a piano version of this great song a couple of years ago. In fact, it was my first YouTube video. I no longer have the vest (which got a couple of negative comments) and have upgrade my piano

Click here if you are interested in seeing my version. Again, well done!

Cudo - I loved your "I Will" - it works really well with your upbeat arrangement. Well done.

Great job, Mozarta thumb

I often teach 'Blackbird' on guitar.
It is, in my experience, one of the most difficult songs to play, and sing, at the same time.

I also enjoy playing guitar songs on piano.
A couple of favourites are,
'Classical Gas'
'Hotel California'
'Stairway to heaven'

jasperkeys,
thanks a lot for listening. I am happy to hear that you feel good in the morning while listening to "I Wll". :-))

b528nf7, I was thinking a lot of how to put this tune rhythmicaly together. The up-beat variation seemed for me the best choice, for its flowing character.

Another theoretical aspect on this arrangement is the abundant use of b9 intervals. This harmonically stressed interval doesn't bother the ear very much in this case because the melodic lines do justify it.

Here is the PDF file
