I have found these two (CP33 and P140) used keyboards available locally, with the price being the same ($550.00), what are the pros and cons of each. This keyboard will be used at our church and run through our sound system. I would also consider a new CP50, if it would be worth the extra $1000.....just not sure if it would.

Awesome forum! Thanks in advance for any and all help.

Go for the CP33 - that's a pretty good price for a great instrument that is perfectly suited to your intended application.

Cheers,
James

I owned the CP300 which is the big brother of the CP33. If I had to do it all over I would have bought the CP33 as it's basically the same piano though in a more suitably sized package.

+1 for the CP33. It will integrate with your sound system much easier with its line out connections. As others have said, it is ideally suited for you.

Another +1 for the CP-33 from someone who owns one and has been happy with it. It is very solidly built and if you are mainly interested in the piano sounds it is a great choice. The piano samples are very good for a digital piano in that price range and the action feels close enough to a real piano. There are not that many different patches but the ones it has are all good.

The CP33 is better for use on stage. I have the P155 and think it is best for home use. The P140 is very much like the P155.

The P155/P140 has many functions that are accessed vie menu and function keys, you change a setting by pushing "up, up, up,.... enter" while watching for a (say) 15 in the LCD. But on the CP33 that same function might have a physical knob. An example might by setting the relative volume of the two sounds in a layered setup.

The internal sounds in the P155 (and maybe the P140) are more advanced than those in the CP33 but I assume this is not for solo piano performance.

I think the CP50 is like the CP33 well setup for us on stage but it's internal sound is a step ahead of the P155 and two steps from the CP33. I'd decide which of those based on if the piano is up front or more of an accompaniment to others
