after reading a lot on this forum i ordered the vmk 161.i choose this over the 88 versions because of the ease of use on the road at giggs. i ve been playing piano for the last 18 years so action is very important to me.and this controller is phenomenal. as good as the yamaha cp33, p140( GH), way better then the GHS models, miles ahead of all korgs and entry level rolands.
PRO-build like a tank, seems heavy but the overall weight is 15 kg.
- the action is phenomenal, so close to real piano action.keys are not sticky even though playing on a fast tempo.
-the knobs feel durable although i really don t care about any of the stuff because i use a sonic cell module.
CONS-the pedal provided is a crappy one, just buy a real one

so my advice if you want a piano in the range of 1000-1500$ buy a fatar key with a sound module and you will be astonished.it is all about the feeling during playing. if you want to use it as a midi controller maybe you will find it more easy to buy a akai or novation extra controller with knobs.
the only concern i have is about reliability on the road but i bought a bag for it and hopefully it will be ok

Thanks for the feedback. Which software instruments do you (intend to) use with it?
