Here is the recording of me playing in a competition. These were the eliminatory rounds.

1)Bach prelude and fuge in B flat major
2)Chopin etude op.25 no.12
3)Vianna da Motta Op.9 No.1 (Canção d'Amor)

I did pass through to the finals where i played the Op.26 No.12 (Beethoven) and rachmaninoff elegie (Op.3 No.1) but i did so many mistakes and its such a terrible performance im not even gonna listen to it nor gonna post it.

Opinions?

Thanks

you are in a very good place at (16?) years old smile it's good that you've got a good teacher now then to hone all of your ability.

if this is what you want to do, just keep working and i'm sure good things will happen for you!

thanks. i am currently studying in a music school in the uk. i might get the chance to play in a sort of old building with a really nice steinway is and where many famous pianists have stayed when they came to portugal including rubinstein, freire, gulda, argerich and others. if i get permission to record i will get some more up.

Nice playing, especially the Chopin Etude! I haven't heard the other piece, but it was a wonderful introduction to it for me. smile Keep up the good work.

the competition required a piece by a portuguese composer. as all of the portuguese music is obscure i did some research and i found vianna da motta a student of lizst so i did it.

You play very well I think! Congratulations. Not surprised you made it to the finals. I look forward to the next one.

Composers manufacture a product that is universally deemed superfluous—at least until their music enters public consciousness, at which point people begin to say that they could not live without it.
