Yep, your right side is running like a sewing machine ... the space favors a stock market trend beginning to rise out of the left side of a pail.

I figured it's about time I posted some updated pictures of my Piano Room in this thread.

Well, it's not as much a "room" as it is a piece of a room.
But that's ok because it works out well when we're hosting a piano party or entertaining friends and/or family.

Here are a few pictures from our place in Parsonsfield, Maine.
(Click any image for the larger version).

Looking toward the Piano Room and Living Room from the dining room.
The overall room is 25'x25' with an 11' peak to the ceiling, good acoustics (one of the reasons we bought the house)

I will likely add a few more pictures to this as I find them.

Now, let's see yours!

The wall made the trip too Cathy, thanks for asking. But we literally had to cut out the wall from the mobile home in Florida, and replace the wall.

Then we reinforced the thin (like paneling) wall the music is glued onto by gluing heavier wood to the back, and added a frame. Now we can hang the music wall like a giant picture.

This is it in our foyer, first thing you see when you enter our home (click for larger image).

Get Betty Edward's book "Drawing on the Right side of the Brain" and go to work on it. It's easier than one would think.

I made a few quick composer sketches myself, more caricatures really. This is Rachmaninov, who I favour over Bach anyday

So my piano room is currently in flux! This is a good thing!! I sold my condo and purchased a house. My only caveat to house size was it HAD to accommodate a grand piano. You see, I have played since I was 5 (now a LOT older than that), and my boyfriend is a professional pianist. I took a long break from playing when I joined the Navy in 1989. However, I got my BA in Music in 2007... piano was my main instrument. Anyway... Tomorrow I am going to get a cashiers check to pay the remainder off of my new 6'3" Baldwin L! :-) so excited!! It was built in 1965, but has had a lot of work done to it. We have been looking for about a month, and now it is coming to fruition! Our head over heals favorite piano was a brand new Steinway B. We have played over 50 different pianos and visited at least 5 different dealers in Southern CA, up to Los Angeles. We had planned to visit 3-5 more stores, but fell in love with this piano. I made an offer, and it was accepted.

The house has a combined living/dining room. The kitchen is attached to the family room. So, I relocated the dining room to the kitchen area by moving the chandelier. Now we have to figure out placement because we will have two pianos in a week or so! :-)

I commissioned an artist friend of mine. I love it now! However it took a bit to get used to it at first. Jason (S/O) wanted something abstract... I wanted something traditional... and this is what we got... hehe I love it now, and it was well worth what I paid her to create it.

Too bad I get extremely nervous playing around him... I am getting better though... It only took 7 years of living together... hehe... So intimidating living with a professional pianist... makes me feel like a tinkerer! God forbid I make an error! ;-)

Everyone's rooms are so neat compared to mine! The thing behind the piano is a foam mattress - for extra acoustic-ness (is that a word?).

Well, she's pretty talented ... you two have a nice semi-real blend. I'm doing a vision test on these old eyes that don't work so well anymore; is the mysterious image to the right a girl's face?

Looks like your pup sleeps where our pup used to sleep ... might be how small dogs are wired up. grin
