I believe it was built in 1989 or 90. It has DDR on the frame, so at least that much was cast before the reunification.

I have been without internet for 48 hours. The guys came to fix it today.

One of them asked if he could have his photo taken in my music room. How bizarre.

I let him do it, just specified that it should not appear on any social media. The idea of being on faecesbook is anathema to me.

I have had this Rösler upright since years, and I still love it. I will buy a grand for sure in some time, though.

And yes - I didnt show the room since its a mess right now haha.
Also, I love to play the piano in the darkness. Much more fun and dramatic to me smile

Love it! I also like to play in a darkened room.

It depends on the environment, the humidity might be good if it's dry otherwise.

Just to amplify that point, a century ago admittedly houses rarely had central heating and never had air conditioning. They did, however, have coal fires for heating and lots of draughts! Pianos were very common and worked fine. Hygrometers would have been unheard of.

When I was a boy we lived in a house which wasn't far removed from an Edwardian model. Our piano there survived nicely.

A piano room doesn't need to be kept warm. You generate heat by playing it! Well, I do . . .

Thanks for the kind words. The guitars haven't gotten too much play since I started on piano.

Nice tech set-up you have happening there, JimmyDaGreek. I like it.

I'd had some better quality pictures taken earlier this year and not sure if I had ever posted much that was decent before, so here is now. The front of the house anyway, from the inside and where it sometimes gets loud. smile
