Anyone have a set of these. Thinking of picking up a set but would like some impressions first. Thanks

I lot of people have these. I'm on my second pair. Sweetwater has them for $99

They are "open" design and don't block or contain sound. Open headphones will give the best sound for a given price. Closed headphone as good as the K240 will cost at least $250. But if you need the closed kind (noisy environment or an open mic) you need them. If you can use open ones these are dead-accurate and allow you to hear a good amount of detail For $99 everyone needs to own a pair of these. Maybe you have some headphone others too.

K240 are kind of overkill for piano practice but if you are auditioning a virtual piano software or trying to really hear what is in recorded music or certainly if you are tweaking a recording you made you need a good pair of studio headphones

I have the AKG K240 Mark II phones.

I wouldn't buy them again - ear cups are round and even for my relatively small ears they are too tight. And as a result uncomfortable. Whenever I look at peoples' ears I notice the shape is more elliptical than round. So why would they make the cups round? I have no idea - perhaps it saves on manufacturing cost?

My Sennheiser HD 240 (from the early nineties) are much better - too bad they were discontinued.

I've no problems with mine but i didn't try many others so I can't say if they're good or not.

Only concern is about the low volume when connected directly to keyboard or PC. Maybe they need an amplifier.
