My wife and I just got back from a two-week camping trip ( click here for photos).

I googled to locate a nursing home in Coeur d'Alene and played there during lunch when we were in the area.

I played for an hour, and it went great. It was a big room, with a lot of residents and they loved it. I sure wish this place were in my town. I play at a local assisted living facility, and I only get a small group.

Also, when driving through Cambridge, Idaho (pop 360), I noticed a storefront senior center packed with seniors eating lunch. I went in and asked if they'd like some music on the piano, and they said yes. What a great crowd, singing along, really enjoying it. I have to find a place like this closer to home.

That's a great idea. A venue like that near where my mother lives is my next goal, although I'd like to get some money for it to help pay for gas, since in the near future I may be up there every weekend (she just went into the hospice program, and it's a 5 hour drive for me).

I do play at an assisted living place here for lunch, and they have a very nice dining room, tho not as big as the one in your picture looks. There's a couple of other places here in town I'm going to check out, too.

But thanks for the nudge to just contact the places in my mother's town and get it done!

It's cool that you do so much -
