Hello.
I love real sad, lonely, dark, piano songs. I would love to compile a list of songs as such.
Help me create a list...

So many...
Right now I am working on Chopin 27 2
This thread might be better over on the Pianist Corner where so many pieces are discussed. (maybe this might be a good time to try the new search feature for threads that might be similar, as well)

Same idea here: this would fit better in the Pianist Corner.
Beethoven: Sonata 14, Opus 27, 1st movement Chopin: Opus 28, Prelude 4 (Prelude 15 is also beautiful); Sonata 2, Opus 35, 3d movement Debussy: Clair de Lune Mussorgsky: Une Larme Rachmaninoff: Elegie; Prelude in C Sharp Minor
I'm also a huge fan of Satie, who has written some beautiful and easy works (I especially love the Gymnopedies, Gnossiennes and Danses de Travers). You could look into those as well.

These are not necessarily "piano" songs, but I play them solo on the piano, so they can be piano songs.
Different genre, but oh so sad:
"Drown In My Own Tears" -Ray Charles
"Please Send Someone To Love" -Percy Mayfield
"3 O'Clock In The Morning" -BB King
"The Sky Is Crying" -Elmore James
"How Blue Can You Get?" -BB King

He looks like Lang Lang chewing gum... Not badly played, but still.

The Moonlight sonata, definitely. Also, some pieces by Yann Tiersen... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MRCFvohiwAgI love playing his work at night while everything's quiet and the only light comes from my piano lamp... Also, Clair de Lune is one of the most beautiful pieces I've ever heard!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T3COuOkizgAWish I could play it, but it's still beyond my level for now. Still, I can't get enough of listening to it, it's so moving!
