The timbre and depth of the sound is quite expressive and impressive. The action is very good, very realistic. Sounds much better at home than it did in the store. Soon after I got it, I discovered it wouldn't play MIDI files that I had on a USB device, but Yamaha sent a technician who replaced the computer board, and everything is now fine. The specs say it has MIDI Out, but what I would like is to be able to RECORD in MIDI rather than a proprietary Yamaha audio format. Maybe I'm confused, but I think MIDI Out means you can connect it to a MIDI device. Anyway, recording is not important to me. I just use it as a standard piano. I can't compare the Yamaha CLP 320 to other digital pianos, but the reviews of it are great, and I like it as much or better than many upright acoustic pianos I've played and heard. The sound is very good, quite expressive, and sounds well through the speakers. The action is great, a bit on the heavier side, and it's very "deep" (as in, the key moves quite a lot when pressed, more than on some other digitals). As you can see in the pictures, I even use the top of the piano as a shelf for random cables, my headphones or my laptop, when i connect it to the piano!
