If anyone can tell me the year of production,quality and price????!

I have a piano Gebruder Stingl.I'm interested to find out it's real value,and the year of production.On the inner cover is written OP 21488.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

21488 will belong to production year 1911/12. Quite exactly 100 yrs old. According to J.U. Witter, "Das Klavier-Lexikon".

"OP" will be "opus", works number, serial number.

Value depends on type of piano, upright? Small one? Big one?

..or a grand? Small? medium? concert size?

..and technical status, to be best evaluated by a competent piano technician.

BTW there is a book written by Mr. Carhart, "The Piano Shop on the Left Bank".

A lovely story about Paris and pianos and men loving pianos and and a vowed community of piano aficionados. The writer is then "allowed" (..) to buy an old Stingl piano.

An implicite story about piano history and a very personal approach about which meaning a piano may have in a men's life.

Very pleasing reading stuff.
