Hi everyone,

I have a question about the old Akoustik Piano sampling line from Native Instruments, compared to the new line (BERLIN, NEW YORK and VIENNA CONCERT GRAND as well as UPRIGHT PIANO). Specifically, is there a difference between these products? I understand you need Kontakt 4 to run the pianos, but other than that, is there an audio difference? Are the new ones the same samples? Maybe higher quality? Or did they just lose the brand-name rights and replace them with generic piano names?

sincerely,
curtis

they are the exact same samples but the scripts and presets are a bit different. they def didnt resample these pianos, they are all the same 3 velocity samples. They arent the best pianos out there, I dont think you will be satisfied with them. the native instruments alicia keys piano by contrast is sampled in 12 velocity layers.

I still like that steingraeber upright piano from akoustic piano, even if it's just 3 layers. The grands not so much.
