Umm, first of all, there are only two sheet music books available for Yann Tiersen's music. Which only make up a total of about 10 songs.
These sheets are primarily user created material, brought about by the lack of transcriptions available for his music, yet a very large demand!
Sure, I haven't asked each person who created the sheet music for their permission, but so far I haven't had any complaints, and I give credit to the transcribers where it's due (some were transcribed anonymously).
Not only that, but I'm constantly updating the site with my own transcriptions and corrections.
I realize that a while ago some guitar tab websites were shut down because apparently there is a legal issue with people sharing their own interpretations of popular songs online. I hope I don't have to get involved with that kind of a battle, since it doesn't really make sense to me.
Would it be considered illegal to make a transcription of a Chopin song that noone had ever transcribed before? and then share it online for free?
I am not familiar with that work, what are the best pieces?
Hmm, I'm gonna assume you're quite an experienced pianist, so skip all the easy pieces.
Among my favourites, are "La Chute", "L'Absente", "Avant La Chute", and "Rue des Cascades"
