Clavia provided samples of features of Nord Piano. You can check it here in the column on the right http://www.nordkeyboards.com/main.asp?tm=Products&clpm=Nord_Piano There is a sample of how open string resonates with others (without use of sustain pedal), and how it sounds when you use sustain pedal. Also, there is a pedal noise recorded, with volume set to +5dB.

Do you think it sounds natural? I don't remember any other DP that allows making such various noises from the pedal.

Also, I wish a DP BSD thread had some Nord Piano sample.

Many of the sample sets you'd load into a computer have mechanical noises too. You can turn these on or off. I think Nord uses downloadable samples. And I think at least some of these were from Sampletekk

Interesting. Regardless of source of this samples, I think it's very good idea. Pianists don't like Clavia very much for a few reasons, but every step forward in one of DP manufacturers gives us hope to see similar development in others.

I've already asked few people with Nord Stage on Youtube to make us sample of dewster's test but no one has recording setup (or will). True is that Nord instruments are quite rare and used mostly by live musican who don't care about DAWs, recording, interfaces etc.

Maybe try to ask these guys from Poland (they've made nice and deep tests of Roland's SuperNatural piano) thumb

Does anyone know when the Nord Piano 88 will actually be available for purchase?

Does anyone think this is the best stage piano on the market right now as far as the action and the piano sounds?

I play classical music.

I want to buy a stage piano and mostly care about the action and the piano sound.

I was considering the stage EX 88 but I don't need all the extra as far as the organ and synth.

I was also considering the Korg SV1 88.

They say: Now shipping. Then it deppens on country where you live and your distributor wink

Nord action is the Fatar TP40. But not version GH so it's not graded.

I like their feature of fully downloadable sounds into the internal flash memory from web library.

Sound: We will know more when dewster gets his test file from somewhere. Actualy there are only demos on their webpages.

Now Nord has new sets of samples; 7 new and rest remastered.

- Bösendorfer upright
- Steinway D
- Petrof 132 upright
- HonkyTonk have had its felt hammers replaced by nails
- Saloon Upright is a deliberately detuned Baumgardt
- Rhodes mk I Suitcase
- Another MK I
- MK II
- Wurlitzer A200
- Clavinet D6's
- Rhodes Sparkletop '67
- Harpsichords

Uprights and grands are available in 3 size versions: small, medium, large. It means 3 levels of amount of String Resonance samples, rest (like zones and velocity levels) are the same.

And there is another OS update.
