Does anyone know which control setting in Internet Explorer causes some of the threads/links to completely shut down? It is frustrating to click and die!
For example: http://www.pianoworld.com/ubb/ubb/ultimatebb.php?/topic/1/20245.html does it to me.
I have to use firefox or another browser to view the thread.

What version of IE are you running? Also, are you running DSL, Cable or phone modem?

IE 7 with Cable. I fear it is IE7, but am not looking forward to a reinstall.

It is an IE7 thing. Opened it all the way up with the same results. Thanks Microsoft.

I use Firefox, and that page took over a minute to open up (on a DSL connection at work). I suspect IE has a timeout setting that is set shorter than that in Firefox. You may want to google for a way to increase IE timeout.

I opened it with both Firefox and IE 7 -- both took a while because of the photos, IE took longer. As noted, you may have a timeout issue.

Running Windows XP Professional SP2 and IE7 with all current security patches, version shows as 7.0.5730.11 (help - about internet explorer).

Cable modem connection. No problem opening either page to the referenced thread.

Exactly the same setup and the same experience for me, except version is : 7.0.5730.13. The linked page opened immediately.

Then again it could be Vista AND IE7. My version of IE is 7.0.6000.16546. I appreciate everyone's response. Time to go to microsoft as the google search and fixes haven't done it yet.

My tests were run using Vista (Home Premium) and IE 7.0.6000.16546

It never ceases to amaze me that anyone would use Internet Exploder (or any other Micro$lop product for that matter) in this day and age. FireFox is far more secure, far less buggy, and is cross platform. I don't really care for Safari that much, but its WAAAY better than Exploder.

Oh, and FireFox has built-in spell check. I can often tell when someone is using something else...

The funny part is, that is like one of the only very few and I'm talking maybe 3 pages that it does it on.
