Hi Guys,
I've been looking at a lot of pianos lately and think I have it narrowed down to two. I can get a new C2 or a used 1993 C7 for close to the same price. The C7 is at a reputable Yamaha dealer and will have warranty. Any suggestions on which to get? Thanks.

C7! The sound from that size of a piano is a whole world apart than the modest C2. Not to mention the bragging rights...

Also, the C7 has already depreciated to a stable level. The new C2 will depreciate quicker during the early years of ownership.

A 1993 vintage is a C7F which is a newer scale and a great piano,of course contingent on it's present condition.

The C7 really is the only option. I wouldn't even really think about it anymore although I am sure your heart told you before you even posted this that you wanted the C7.

C7 - with no doubt.

Be sure that the Yamaha tone is your preference. If so, the C7 performs it beautifully.

The new C2 was going to speak up for himself, but the C7 beat him up and took his lunch money.

Thanks guys for the input. I had a feeling you'd all say that. Now the next question, what do you think is a fair price? I'm negotiating with them today.

C7 - I have a new C3 and I can't say enough good things about it, I absolutely love it.

Have fun!

C7 all the way grin .... unless it has a broken plate. [Linked Image] There's no comparing the C2 vs the C7, in my opinion. I'd probably pick a Baldwin Hamilton upright over a C2, but I'd have a tough time choosing between some C7s I've played and a non-C&A Steinway D, especially the older C7s that had the 20-note bass, not so much the newer ones with the 23-note bass.
