I would try and talk them down a bit, I've seen some on craigslist for around 500, not sure of the condition though.

11 years old for $1000 is good, but talk it down as much as you can. It really depends on the condition, too.

$500 is more for the 20-, 30-year-old uprights in good condition.

11 years ago Chinese-made piano commonly had significant problems. Eterna was no exception.

I would pass on this one.

If this is a Yamaha Eterna, you should do a little sesearch on the piano and not focus exclusively on the price.

Try Yamaha Eterna piano in the seaarch engine or on google.

Steve, 11 years ago was 1999. Are you saying that brands like Yamaha, and Kawaii were not the best back then?

Eterna was a name Yamaha used. These are actually great little pianos in my opinion. My folks sold many in the day that they were Yamaha dealers and I recently had to tune one that had gone unused and unattended to for way too long. It responded well to a multiple pitch raise tuning session and remains fairly stable after that.
If its a Yamaha Eterna and checks out to be in good shape - $1000 bucks is as fair as any other deal for sure.
