On this 170th birthday of Tchaikovsky, what are some of the things you've learned by Tchaikovsky lately or if you haven't anything perhaps a favorite?

On my to-do list is The Morning Prayer Op. 39 no. 1.

Happy birthday Peter Tchaikovsky!

I finished up Italian Song at the end of last year. My teacher spent a lot of time working with me on on dynamics and phrasing with this piece. It's pretty and I still play it from time to time.

Tschaikowsky’s Opus 6-6 is regarded as his most famous song (Wikipedia) ...
well worth mastering .

Here’s an English translation of the Russian
None but the lonely heart

None but the lonely heart
Can know my sadness
Alone and parted
Far from joy and gladness
Heaven's boundless arch I see
Spread out above me
O(h) what a distance drear to one
Who loves me
None but the lonely heart
Can know my sadness
Alone and parted
Far from joy and gladness
Alone and parted far
From joy and gladness
My senses fail
A burning fire
Devours me
None but the lonely heart
Can know my sadness

PS Can't go wrong in stepping up to the plate with the famous
2 page Chanson Triste.
