I don't think Blechaz's or Yundi's facial expressions are particularly extreme unless the camera show a real closeup of their faces from the front.

To answer your question, the eyebrows are the most important part of piano playing in terms of tone and interpretation.

Body movements, facial movements, head movements, bowel movements, air movements, sonata movements...they all help in moving the music from the pianist to the jury.

That's why a great performance is a moving experience.

As do shouts of "Yeah!" and "Hoo, boy!" while playing particularly difficult passages.

Keith Jarrett has the whole involuntary scat thing going.

Sometimes I catch myself snorting nasally on the off beat. Probably should try to break that habit. Don't want anything flying out and landing on the keys.

If you want to win a competition, do a fist pump after the last note and yell, "nailed it".

Seriously, I feel that a limited amount of appropriate of body movement helps me to relax. That from a person who works with many successful concert musicians (not necessarily piano). I sought her advice, at the urging of my instructor, because I was having terrible problems with tension while performing

That was hardly all she taught me about releasing tension, but it has really helped.

Really, is that how we can win competitions? I have an answer then.. I'll show up in a mini skirt with 6-inch stilettos and move around a lot and make all those faces.. that should guarantee me a win =)

Wouldn't the 6 inchers make pedaling difficult?

Eyebrows don't win competitions, at least not the Cliburn. Just ask Bozhanov:
