I would say 5-6 days a week I play for over 5 hours a day. A combination of personal practice, practice for gigs, and gigs themselves.
I never really feel tired afterward. I do need to take breaks though to let the information sink in and rest my hands a bit.

Yes, I feel very tired after a long improvisation recording session. In fact I feel like a limp rag, physically and mentally. It is one reason I train and maintain my fitness, so I can do this sort of thing with impunity. The tiredness is very pleasant, however, and comes with a sense that I have created what I set out to create. It is probably advisable to add that by tiredness I do not mean pain, weakness or fatigue in the hands and playing equipment; that would be a totally negative symptom and a sign I ought to stop immediately in order to avoid injury.

Yes I do dread sitting for long periods of time. Fatigue is often related to "that which resides upon the piano bench".

Once I get there, this dread fades. Various piano bench cushionings have helped.

Solutions anyone?

Usually 5 to 6 hours on my free days. But not always 100% playing piano. I took some slight break e.g. drinking coffee, listening some recording off the computer and went back to train.

I can never feel tired after training, only guilty if I never train enough.

As a beginner of 4 months I usually do no more than an hour and a half and I talk a break for about 5 min during sessions. Sometimes I'll just experiment and play whatever I want for about a half hour (figuring out scales, inversions etc...). I'm only learning for now.

Peece.

I can play for 5 hours or maybe 6 before my hands go numb, and I have to stop. This is on a vacation week or weekend, but most days I can only practice after work late in the evening...at that point, I can barely make it an hour because I am so worn out from work.

Piano doesn't wear me out, but work certainly does! I sort of miss being unemployed and playing for 7-8 hours a day in 3-4 hour chunks! I made so much progress and it was so fun....oh well, gives me something to look forward to in retirement!

I can play for about four hours straight before I am completely drained. After a few hours break I am ready to go again though.

On a completely free day, I get tired after playing 2.5 hours non-stop and up to a total of 4-5 hours with hours of breaks dotted in between. But if I play for more than that 2.5 hours on any given day, I would be too tired to play at all the next day.

I could physically keep playing without getting tired when I was little but after the first hour or two, I stop learning anything.

I should be ashamed at my endurance compared to the folks double/triple my age on ABF. :p
