Hello Don,
A month ago, I wrote you a PM to ask about possible technician/tuners in the Central CA Coast area, one with Kawai experience and Piano Life Saver experience. You asked me to write to you at Kawai, rather than at PW, since your technician list is at work, so I did, twice. However, I have never heard back from you. I guess you were away for awhile. Do you have time to help me now? I'd really like to go with recommendations rather than picking a name out of the phone book.
The only option I have is that Dave Stahl has offered his services, but since he's a bit far away north, he'd have to combine a trip down to service my piano, with a visit to a friend, and obviously, emergency issues would not work out.
Someone suggested I also contact Dale Erwin, which I did, but unfortunately, he didn't have a name come to mind, for a tech in the Central CA Coast area. Can you think of someone?
Thank you. sleepingcats

If you can get your piano where you want it to be, and schedule service calls regularly so that you keep it in good shape, emergencies are very unlikely. Just keep those pencils where they won't fall down in the action...

You can always find a tech here: http://www.ptg.orgI think it's safe to say most of us have experience with the Piano Life Saver to various degrees, and there are very few things about maintaining a Kawai that need any specialized experience. --Cy--

I don't think this is the appropriate venue for personal messages of this nature. Perhaps it was posted to this forum in error, in which case an apology would be nice.
If anyone is looking for a piano technician, there is a thread in the Technicians FAQ which has a bunch of good tips on that.

I apologize if this wasn't appropriate.
I know KawaiDon reads PW Forums, so I was hoping that he'd see this and reply. I want to continue to take good care of my Shigeru Kawai once I move to California, and have been seeking assistance prior to my move so I can be prepared. My local technician will pack the hammers prior to the move and I'd need a technician to unpack them upon delivery (or soon thereafter), and was hoping to arrange one who could be my long-term technician/tuner.
I'm sorry I brought up the whole issue. Thanks to those of you who tried to help.

Cats,
I read the forum, but not every day.
I answer every message I receive at the office, even when I am traveling, and would not have ignored your message. You must not have typed the address correctly. Another option is that your e-mail service has a spam blocking system that did not recognize my reply and rejected it.
I do not normally post my office e-mail address in the public forums, because I have found it increases my spam mail dramatically.
Please write to me again.

Thank you!
I will write again. That's a different email address from the first one you asked me to write to. Hopefully all will go smoothly this time around.

Just to update for those interested, and to clarify that all is fine, all is well, and my piano is happy.
Thank you KawaiDon.

It seems that the ShigeruKawai.com address that is supposed to come to me was not functioning! The problem is being addressed.
