Uh-oh...looks like that 'gator is looking for a meal. Looking at that picture reminds me why I should complain about my climate so much. I'd take winter over gators any day of the week! grin

And I've read that pythons are moving north. Any around Orlando, yet?

Well there's no pythons in South America so they wouldn't be moving north.
They'd actually have to be moving across the ocean in order to get into Florida.

Pythons are actually from the "old world" (Africa, Asia and Australia) whereas it is Boas that are from the "new world" (South America).

Both types of snakes are constrictors however.

(This will be on the mid-term) shocked

The pythons were released into the Everglades by their owners and they have been breeding. They had a python hunt the other week and couldn't find any. They think the cold winter killed some of them. And...yes, Jerry, I was walking. Gators are very fast on land, faster than I can run, so I gingerly walked past this guy, expecting to be chased any second! We are both on a sand berm with water on both sides, so my running options were a bit limited!

It's a real shame that they "hunt" the pythons.
They aren't poisonous and they certainly pose no threat to humans.
