wow - question answered in less than 2 minutes. I've never even heard of the movie.

(unless google was used. that's just cheating )

I did cheat.

It only took about half a minute, via YouTube. I quickly found a brief cut from the movie that includes the nocturne.

Not so if you listened and knew the piece by "ear".
I didn't know it by ear.

The "description" says what nocturne it is. But I did take a listen to it to make sure they had it right.

BTW.....this nocturne is a great example of how a piece can seem to be "easy," and in a way it is, but it isn't really. Like: those long long notes in the R.H.
What do you do with them? What do you do about them?

To play the piece decently, you have to at least realize this is an issue. And it's an issue that challenges both our pianism and musicianship, although maybe not obviously.

That was such a depressing movie. I never thought I would be interested in watching it again. But now all of a sudden the music behind it comes forth. I'm a firm believer in that music makes or breaks a directors efforts, most of the time anyway. Now I'm gonna have to watch it again and listen closely to the music.
