Happy New Year everyone,

I'm just wondering if anybody's familiar with Rud. Sohn Ibach piano? Is US$4700 - $5500 reasonable for an approximately 12 year old upright Ibach (#148589)? Any input is greatly appreciated. Thank you so much.

Cheers!

That will depend very much on the model (size) and the state it is in. New Ibach pianos retail for over 10000 € (US$ 13 000) (up to about 18000 €) in Germany, depending on size and finish.

A well kept one should keep its value reasonably well, so the price would be OK - but if it has been mistreated or just not been taken care of properly, the situation might be completely different.

Hope that helps,

Markus

Thanks Markus,

the piano's been well taken care of very well. The condition is perfect, looks almost new. I had a technician inspected it. The piano has absolutely wonderful warm and singing tone, great touch. I can't really remember whether it's 114cm or 118cm, but should be either one. Nice casing with two tone patterns, mahagony satin finish. I was told that the owner bought it new in 1996. Don't remember the model also, though I manage to get hold of the serial number (#148589). Thanks again.

Cheers!
