We need to start a new thread "who has the most pianos". So far, I think CC is on top of the list and it looks like Chris H is second on the list.

Chris, that's impressive...

well this is my roommate's keyboard that I'm using for now.

Don't laugh, I'm on a grad student budget, so I can't afford a real piano. I don't have the space either.

I should go to Piano row in Manhattan and pretend that I'm buying to feel a real piano again. I haven't touched a real one since I came from Panama.

Thanks guys, I am lucky to have those pianos.

Karaeloko, you will have a great piano one day. It doesn't have to cost a fortune. The Steinway Z in the picture was bought on ebay for £2000 ($3500) and it sounds lovely.

Sharon, your comments on this thread (and others) are lovely. Very kind and supportive. I'm sure that many posters here find your words truly inspiring.

$3500?!? For a drop-dead GORGEOUS Steinway upright?!? You are one lucky duck indeed. That was some deal.

A minim is the British name for a half-note. I personally love their name for a 64th note--hemidemisemiquaver! Say that 64 times fast! laugh

Andrew, it WE, as a group set perhaps set a record; Hunky just jump started us and pushed us along.... which is what we needed. I'm sure he's sincerely pleased that he set a new record - wherever he may be - HINT, HINT....where for art thou, Bernard? wink Your Public awaits with baited (or bad) breath! laugh

But WE make things happen - we don't always need others (although people like Hunky are fun and get yer going....you know. I'm gonna let these comments ride (for better or worse)! :t:

And, I hate to burst people's bubbles, but it doesn't break the record. There's at least one 17-page thread (the infamous "king of the hill" thread) in the archives that I know about.

Sharon;

While I have considered posting up a new thread in which we could all just talk about "ME" !! you are absolutely right that this is about ALL of us.

I find it very interesting to read the stories of everyone and also put a face to a name. Sometimes what I had pictured in my mind is right on, and sometimes the stories and pics are much different from what I had expected. This makes it even more interesting to read!

As Monica had said, "wild horses could'nt get it out of me".

So, how about NOT letting this thread burn out, but instead, posting up some more pics with more interesting stories.

As I said before, this is really good stuff!! thumb

I would post up some more pics, but they can't get any more revealing as then I would be totally Nekid! eek

Thank you for clearing that up! It amazes me that the US-British metric-decimal differences are present in music as well!
