I'd like to join. I've been practicing every day since the first, but it's OK if you start me as of today.

Thanks!

Hi,

I decided this past weekend that I would start taking piano lessons again. I'll try to practice every day from now on (been playing each of the past 4 days). Thanks.

I was travelling 13th to 15th, so I couldn't practice at the keyboard on the 14th frown
I did do some ear training with EarMaster Pro on my laptop, does that count? wink

Otherwise, on to the excused list for me!

I had to head out of town on the 16th and couldn't practice (it was my mother's birthday). By the time we got home, it was my daughter's bedtime. Guess it would be excused? While in the car, I at least tried thinking through a passage I keep screwing up in the 2nd half of Bach's Prelude in D BWV which I've been trying to memorize.

This is OT, but it occurred to me that "moyd" is what Bugs Bunny would say if he were to swear in French.

I have been practicing every night until last night. Went out with a friend for a few drinks, a few led to another few LOL… Didn’t really know where I was when he finally got me home. I didn't log anything either whether I practice or not frown I will drop myself off this year MOYD then.

Drinking isn’t good. Don’t do it. laugh

Nguyen - I also drank too much last night! help

(Fortunately, I'd practiced beforehand.)

Is anyone else who is doing this for the first time planning a little reward for making it through January?

Hmm, I rewarded myself by signing up for another year's worth of MOYD. What sort of reward did you have in mind?

Piano self teaching on and off from 2002-2008. Took piano instruction from Nov 2008- Feb 2011. Took guitar instruction Feb 2011-Jul 2013. Can't play either. Living, breathing proof some people aren't cut out to make music.

ha

On my upcoming holiday, I already scoped out pictures of the lobby online, so I know they have a piano. Whew!

The annual camping trip later this year might prove a little more difficult. I might need to bring along my niece's Hanna Montana keyboard. laugh

You're right, though, the power is strong! tiki

Learning to play since June 2009.

I have to fess up I didn't practice yesterday, we're in the middle of moving house and I can't get holidays at work, so somehow I ended up in my bed sleeping at 1am without touching the piano all day frown

Brilliant Idea! We hope to go to Paris later this year. All I need to do is find a piano dealer and say I'm interested in "European Delivery" just like you can do with a BMW or Mercedes. wink
Time to Google "Schimmel dealers in Paris France" smile

Mark, thanks for the motivation. Please add me to the late list, if possible. Thanks again, Patrick.

I cannot edit my log.... frown
I made a small typo yesterday and wanted to fix it now. I clicked on Edit, Submit on the left side of my log, and it takes me there, but when I try to edit it, it won't let me do it... blush

I just tested this and it works fine. I made several new records and Edited all of them without incident.

I am trying to figure out what went wrong for you.

Can you provide more details? Which record(s) specifically? Did you receive an error of any kind?

Two days to go to the end of January and I have to say I've practiced for more consecutive days this month than ever before. Last two years of practice I'd been averaging just over 50% of the year practicing, hopefully this year can be the first almost 100% year smile

Not sure if I need moving to the excused list or not though. I've missed one day so far, 2nd of Jan due to been away visiting family for the new year, snuck in some practice day before and after though and haven't missed a day since.

Funny how just posting on MYOD has kept me practising. More importantly, I feel like I'm making much more progress on my current piece which is what it's all about laugh
