I want to mount my new Zoom Q3 camcorder above my head so I can see my hands and fingers from a close-up birdseye overhead view while practicing on my Yamaha U3 upright. I know everybody's doing it on Youtube but I still have to find instructions on how to mount it. I have a min-tripod as well as a full-size camera tripod but I don't know how I can make the Q3 bend down so its looking from directly overhead. I also have a microphone boom stand but have no idea how to mount the Q3 on it short of using velcro or duct tape.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Samson sells a mic clip adapter so you can attach the Q3 to a mic boom.

Thanks, Mr. Kreisler.

However, the item is out of stock at Samson and a Google search could not locate anyone who might have it, not even Amazon.

If there are any members with a spare unit who might have it, I'd be interested in buying it from them.

This is exactly what I need. Thanks again.

A belated thanks! I ordered from Markertek who claimed to be the fastest and had the best price.

And a thanks from me, too! Like Filibogado I was stymied by the out of stock notice, both at Samson and amazon.com. I appreciate the help, Setchman. smile

Slightly different application, but same principle...

A while back, I made my own adapter, to fit a mini cam-corder to a boom mic stand, that allowed for pan and tilt.

I have since found a much simpler solution, here:
