oops - didn't see Studio Joe's question until I had submitted. Inquiring minds want to know.

Prince Charles, did I hear a little Thelonias Monk influence? She has a very interesting style. My only criticism would be the vocalizing while playing... I realize that some pianists do this but frankly I think this is a habit that should be nipped in the bud... so to speak. also, and I hate to be picky, but I think the composition is a bit on the long side. I started to lose interest somewhere in the cadenza. But all in all... a great talent!

LaValse, I really enjoyed your playing. I wish I could play like that some day.

Here's the first part (Moderato) of Beethoven's Sonatina in G major. It's the best one of several tries, which (unfortunately) doesn't give me much credit :-) Hope that the second part will be better.

True Beginner - what an aptly named piece - I listened all the way thru making breakfast (yes, I know it's 9:45 am. I'm a night person - ) It was perfect. Beautiful.

The band is doing quite well, La Valse, and thanks for asking. We're becoming audacious enough to think about sending in an audition piece for a little Celtic festival in Wyoming this summer. Besides, we think a road trip would be fun

Well, my new year's "resolution" was to try to listen to more music, and the piano bar was obviously a fine way to start. I just don't know how you can be so productive, not to mention musical, at this time of the morning

I've been contemplating posting this piece in the bar or saving it as a backup in case my recital piece wasn't ready but I've been slacking a bit on working on the recital piece as much as I should so I think I'll force myself to get working.

This piece is titled "In Principio" which ought to make it a good fit to be posted on the beginning of a new year.

Very nice, Anthony - has a tint of ominous to it, or dark night, which I guess is what he was aiming for But your playing it made it eminent.

In honor of Elvis Presley's 75th birthday next week my January Piano Bar submission is my interpretation of his classic All Shook Up from the early skinny Elvis era.

Whooo-eeeeH! That was great fun! I'd love to be able to do that for people to dance to. I think, however, that my voice is way too wimpy But it'd fit right in with my repertoire if I could. You just keep getting better and better -

You really should giver Summer a go sometime, I hope I can sometime be able to play it. Probably one of his best pieces along with One Summer's Day IMO

The piece is named after the movie which I haven't seen. I don't know anything else by Hisaishi yet, other than his music for Princess Mononoke. I'll check it out!

I especially liked the etude and the last one from babama. These are unfamiliar to me, but very nice to listen too. Excellent!

I wrote this piece with the inspiration from Tatiana's "Fluttering Leaves" submission last month where the right hand is kinda following the left hand arpeggios.

I think the special thing about Einaudi music is he creates a mood rather than tells something thru his melody. And this piece is typically showing it and your playing conveyed its mood very well. Dark, mysterious night.

What a fun piece. I like the constrast between the jumpy quick right hand and the grave "sticky" left hand.

babama,
I love all the Japanese movie musics I heard so far. They sound romantic and epic at the same time. I especially like the slow intro.
