Well, I know I already put up one song for this month but I want to put up this one too as I actually put in effort for this piece for awhile now. It was a bit more difficult for me to play and It's still not perfect but best I've played it so far! smile
It's called Once upon a December from the animated fox movie Anastasia

Video link: http://s821.photobucket.com/albums/...n=view&current=OnceuponaDecember.flv

mp3 link: http://www.box.net/shared/6aqyqs56v0

I will listen to the rest of the newly added contributions later too :p

Sam, that thing on my piano is sculpture of a bird. My girlfriend made it and put it there so now it's virtually unmovable until she decides to put it somewhere else. smile Luckily, I like it there. And it's a nice improvement over the giant candle which was there before and which was sometimes mistaken for a roll of toilet paper in my previous videos. smile

While I was listening to all your recordings, it motivated me to record another video. It's just a little tune I was playing when I started to take piano lessons. Because it's really short, the video contains also a harpsichord version (I didn't record it twice, I just changed the instrument in previous recording).

Sam and Laurie - another lovely piece. Perhaps an album is in order? You know, if you make one for gifts for relatives, I'd buy one smile

Studio Joe - I love this. The styling was exquisite, and your voice was just right, and wistful.

Thanks Cathy. We've done one a month for four months now. I'm not going to jinx it by making anything so rash as a resolution to keep it up. We're working on something much harder (a Handel sonata), but the slowdown is the semi-skilled keyboard player.

Bill, Kmotty,

I really enjoy comping with Band In A Box, but I'm never sure how far to go. I have this vision of comping for a female vocalist (gorgeous, voluptuous, of course), and she is singing sweetly while I am getting carried away with my comping, and suddenly she turns her back (which is lovely, of course) to the audience, turns her mike off, scowls at me, and in a low but angry tone tells me: "Stay outa my space you !@$#$%^#$%^%@#$%", then turns back to the audience, smiling, turns her mike back on, and continues singing without missing a beat. I play a few feeble guide tone lines, muttering about !@$#$%^#$%^%@#$% prima donnas. laugh

I guess if that happens, I'll back off a bit!

Knotty, I haven't looked for a real band, but I'm building up to playing at jam sessions; maybe that will lead to something.

If you haven't found it yet - you can tell the BIAB soloist when to start and finish, in the custom soloist window. You're right, I have a lot of fun with it!

Tatiana, That is a lovely piece, played beautifully!

Sam, Lauria, that was excellent, a pleasure to listen to! (BTW, I'm sure that big smile at the end meant something!)

Joe, that brought back some memories, for sure. Great job.

Well, after Prince Charles's lighthearted start, the bar moved straight into some seriously dark sounding Scriabin. Nice job, LaValse. Not bad at all.

ladypayne, that's not something I would choose for light listening, but it sure sounds challenging to play well. There are some real tricky rhythms in that piece. Nice job.

babama, this is another new piece to me. It has a really lush romantic sound to it somewhat reminiscent of Lara's Theme in a way. Your dynamics fit the piece perfectly. A spot-on performance!

Riddler - there aren't too many "jazz standards" that I'm not familiar with, but this is one of them - superb playing, and thanks for the pleasurable introduction!

A truly swingin' performance, Riddler. I particularly enjoyed the deceptively simple-sounding piano solo section that follows the vibe solo. I found it somewhat reminiscent of Basie. I love Basie, by the way. Wonderful performance.

I agree with your wife, it does look backwards. Your song is really nice. I enjoyed it from the intro onwards. I don't think it sounds melancholy in spite of the minor key. Beautiful!

tatiana, I see you have continued the dark sounding classical theme. This is a very pretty piece. I like the way you played it. Very dramatic dynamics. Great job!
