Whooo-eeeeH! That was great fun! I'd love to be able to do that for people to dance to. I think, however, that my voice is way too wimpy smile But it'd fit right in with my repertoire if I could. You just keep getting better and better -

Nice one Babama, never heard that song before. Which movie is it from ? (assuming its one of the ghibli movies.)

You really should giver Summer a go sometime, I hope I can sometime be able to play it. Probably one of his best pieces along with One Summer's Day IMO smile

The piece is named after the movie which I haven't seen. I don't know anything else by Hisaishi yet, other than his music for Princess Mononoke. I'll check it out!

Nice playing everyone, keep them coming! smile

I especially liked the etude and the last one from babama. These are unfamiliar to me, but very nice to listen too. Excellent! smile

Studio Joe, Bill,
I wrote this piece with the inspiration from Tatiana's "Fluttering Leaves" submission last month where the right hand is kinda following the left hand arpeggios.

Jotur,
Thank you for your kind comment. But don't daydream while you make breakfast, you might burn yourself smile

David,
I think you play it well and I like the dynamic of your right hand.

Anthony,
I think the special thing about Einaudi music is he creates a mood rather than tells something thru his melody. And this piece is typically showing it and your playing conveyed its mood very well. Dark, mysterious night.

Bill,
This is the first song from you that I haven't heard before, but you made Elvis proud.

Ladypayne,
What a fun piece. I like the constrast between the jumpy quick right hand and the grave "sticky" left hand.

babama,
I love all the Japanese movie musics I heard so far. They sound romantic and epic at the same time. I especially like the slow intro.

TB

La Valse - it would appear that you're very close to being "there" (as you say) - well and expressively played (as we've come to expect) - thanks for sharing.

LaValse: Nice playing on that Etude. Scriabin is a composer that I know little about but everything I hear is impressive.

PrinceCharles: Cute kid. She needs to get together with Nora the cat.

TrueBeginner: I liked Morning Dream ... very dreamy...

David: Nice and smooth on the Beethoven Sonatina. What is that thing on top of your piano?

AnthonyB: Einaudi is always so moody and unresolved, as if he is always approaching and never arriving. Not really my thing but you played it well.

Bill: You shake me up. One of these days, when I grow up, I want to play and sing at the same time like you...

Prince Charles, nice playing by Shira, but she'll have to get over that drooling habit if she's going to play in public, or they'll never tire of criticizing her. (I know this from personal experience, since I have the same problem myself!)

LaValse, wow, that sounded very, very good to me! Bravo!

TB, well done. Nice LH arpeggios!

David, great job on the Sonatina. You make it look so effortless!

AnthonyB, that was quite beautiful. A very haunting piece, well played. It strikes me that I probably would never have heard of Einaudi if it weren't for this forum.

Bill, how well I remember that record - it was one of my favorites. Nice work!

Ladypayne, nice work on the Warriors Tune.

Babama, that was powerful - beautiful, dramatic. Well done!!

My piece this month is Beautiful Love, by Victor Young. This is a ballad which has become a jazz standard. I am playing the piano, but the drums, vibes, and bass parts are computer-generated.

Wow, ed, you make my effort at listening to more music in the new year into such a pleasure. That was great - tho hard to eat supper to, since my head was nodding in time with the music and it was hard to stop it long enough to get the fork to my mouth :0 But a really nice piece.

Happy new Year everyone!!!

I logged in today, first time this year - just to discover quite a few wonderful contributions smile

LaValse - I love this Etude, and you played it very well! I wish I could play like you one day...

TBeginner - what a beautiful melody! Thank you smile

David - great job on Beethoven Sonatina, flawless and smooth performance!

Anthony - very nice Einaudi piece, I never heart it before... In the last month, I never opened my Einaudi book... I should get back to it...

babama - very beautiful melody, and you played it with true passion. Very nice!

Rickster - wow again :-) You compose music much quicker than I learn a piece. It was a beautiful song, I really like it.

I do not have much to contribute (I am still working on few pieces, and I was quite lazy to record anything...) - but this is a recording I made a couple of months back:

Pachulski. Prelude.

Bill - enjoyed the trip way down memory lane with your excellent Elvis cover - fine job playing and singing together as always - still not sure though even after all these years exactly what a "fuzzy tree" is, or why it causes one to itch laugh

Here's this month's dose of early music:

A sarabande by Daniel Purcell. The sarabande is a slow, stately dance in three that became a staple of baroque music. This one has some interesting suspensions near the end as the bass descends.

Hope you enjoy it!

Ed,

Really fun stuff you're doing, I gotta find out how to configure BiaB to pick up one chorus like yours does. That looks like a lot of fun.
Have you tried looking for a real band? Your comping is really good.

Ed,
I like this one a lot. I love that it starts with a romantic ballad melody then switches to jazz and goes back to the beginning melody at the end.

Rick,
Wow. The piano part alone sounds like something in a George Winston's or David Nevue's CD. The lyric is also well thought. I love it.

Tatiana,
When I watched your playing, it always gave the impression that the piece was simple. But it is not. Your hands/fingers have very simple but precise strokes. I bet you will make good piano tutorial video if you want to.

JF,
Thank you for listening and for your comment.

Wow, while I was typing this. Two more submissions are in.

Sam,
I am looking forward for your duets every month. They are special. This one is no exception. I felt like in a middle of a daisy field on a warm morning ( while in reality it is 17 F, here smile )

Joe,
I agree with the previous post, you have a very nice voice, good recording quality too.

TB
