Just wanted to drop in and say what a wonderful motivator this is. Apart from the 3 weeks in February when I was travelling, I've practiced every day this year, even if only for 10 or 15 minutes. There have been very few times when I didn't actually want to practice, but for those few times, I felt I'd be setting a bad example for MOYD if I didn't at least sit down and play scales for 5 minutes. And from that point I usually end up doing at least 30 minutes.

Thanks so much for organizing this, Mark!

I need to move to the excused list for 4/9-4/11. I'll be on travel and won't have piano access.

(I actually travel 4/8-4/12, but I can play on those end days before I leave and after I return).

wow I want in on the MOYD please. I have not missed one day playing Killer since he was delivered March 5th. Some days pain gets in the way...but I manage a few minutes anyway...sometimes it drops the pain down a few levels and I can actually play. Just one question, can one be excused for illness?
smile thanks,
Jan

I'm hanging in there! Grad school is finished and I am on spring break! Piano time!
Actually, "Trumpet Tune" is getting me! But I will manage.

Sorry, I am just going to have to give up and try again next year. Life is just too crazy for me too, with the 4 small kids. But the last two start school in September so I am hoping to get serious about practising then and will join again for sure next year!

I hate to quit but this year is just getting too manic, I'm afraid! Take me off the list, but I'll be back next year for sure! Thanks Mark, its a great motivator!

PS Just to add, I am also on medication that makes me both really tired and really dizzy a lot of the time, which is also making playing very difficult, so I am hoping that I can get that sorted out by next year too!

worked great first couple months... never practised this much before.

You can see where this is going, been on and off and did not have access to my piano at times.

Please take me off the list.

it has definately helped to push me onward and i feel great about it.

Thanks Mark !

My fun is just beginning! I have begun a recreational band ( trio) and we will be working on a few pieces just for fun! Not practicing tonight... some one rear ended me this evening and I am taking a break from working on sub plans for my class. Will get back tomorrow.

Take me off the MOYD, I cannot practice every day anymore since my right hand can't seam to recover 100% just yet, I have to take days off all the time when it gets bad, I'm seeing a specialist on Monday, if he tells me I have to stop playing for a while I'll be really sad but life is a bitch, I understand that now. frown

I've been depressed for weeks because of this problem with my hand, I cry sometimes because of it, I feel like I'm a half-person who can't do anything right anymore. I thought being young means no such problems but apparently no one is insured against malfunction...

I am really sorry to hear about your hand injury. It sounds as if you just need to give it time to heal. Maybe you could use this time to work the left hand. I know my left hand is much weaker in scales and could use some time alone on the piano. I hope it improves quickly.

Things have been a bit hectic for me lately and there have been a couple of occasions where I have had to squeak my piano time in right before bed... my wife thinks I am crazy.

Ha ha. I didn't even tell my husband I was doing this. So he doesn't know why, after a long day, I will still sit down to practice at 11:30 at night. He thinks I do it just because I love playing the piano. (Well, he's right.)

My right hand is equal to the left mostly, plus my left hand feels bad too lately, I fear I might be losing it temporarily as well. I don't want to push it further. For me it's either playing at 100% or not doing it at all.
