Hey Sam, I think I've got just the perfect storm: what about The Enchanted Nymph by Levitzki? (Score should be over on IMSLP.)

A sumptuously beautiful fin de siècle bon-bon with more than a hint of eroticism. It certainly fits your OP. Should impress the ladies too...
wink

I didn't either on one reading!

However, the OP should take a look at Bortkiewicz if he hasn't already. smile

I have the very piece for you Xtraheat. It is by Liszt and I can't play it - or even get close.

Fantasy on Paganni's La Clochette S420.

Main theme is similar to the Campanella/Paganini variations but 100 times more difficult. It makes the Hammerklaviar look like a "kids piece".

You play it & I'll hum it, but currently rehearsing:

Bach WTC book 2 no 15 G major, no 20 A minor, no 22 Bb Minor
Mozart A minor Sonata K310
Mendelssohn Op 35 preludes and fuges
Busoni Carmen Fantasy
Rachmaninov Bb prelude OP 23 no 2
Lyapunov Humoreske Op 34
and others

You DO look for the unusual! This piece doesn't just test your technique. It will also test your patience.

"Sumptuously beautiful and erotic" is right!

Although I usually like Hough's choices for his various albums, I find this work quite banal even by Levitzki's standards. Nor do I think it is at all challenging compared to the OP's current rep.

Thats exactly what i was looking for...
TE11 is quite beautiful, melody/repose/general performance as a whole. Its not super difficult.
What about the liszt concert etudes? sospiro and lamento are pretty melodic.

Hey ! I'm working on Hungarian Rhapsody no2 . It really does require a lot of techniques. Surely you should challenge yourself with that. I picked it out of all 19 rhapodies (probably coz its the most famous) because it came from Tom and Jerry and other cartoons .hahaha. It is rather long and technically demanding. Its a capricioso piece.
