Can the soft close fallboard be adjusted so that it closes a bit softer? Mine has just a bit of a clunk. Also, it only slows down past the half way point. Before that it closes at almost full speed so it gets people doing a double take.

It depends on which mechanism is used; there are several types. But generally, yes, they can be adjusted. It's typical for the brake to kick in only halfway.
