I recently discovered Sviatoslav Richter and listened to a lot of his stuff on youtube.

Then I found out about Valentina Lisitsa on this forum and have very recently listened to a lot of her stuff on youtube.

No hip-hop for me, please grin Definitely not my thing.

But I don't think I qualify for the "youngsters" team anymore.... even if I'll always be 15 at heart grin

Well, I see from you profile that you are older than I had assumed, but at 37 you are the same age as my wife and quite a bit younger than I.

I absolutely despise rap and so on...

I ve been listening to hip hop for about 20 years now, not much at all for the alst 3-4 years. The mainstream Hip Hop that people get to see is what someone called r.a.p. as in Retards attempting Poetry. But the underground hip hop scene has some very talented lyricists and many interesting producers. You probably wouldn't like it either, but seriously, tehre is much more than that crap they show on MTV.

Michael Hedges, one of the most creative guitarists ever. A lot of people are doing now exactly what he did 20 years ago and they are still considered innovative ...

I've been listening to a bit of Leszek Możdżer these last few days. He played the piano on the '10 Easy Pieces for Piano' album (Preisner). His style is quite melodic with jazz runs/improvisations thrown in. Really is a fantastic talent!

Right now (at work), Beethoven Concerto No. 4, Perahia. Lately, etudes by Moscheles and Henselt. Wonderful pieces that deserve more attention.
