Seems like every time someone asks about a beginner piano someone will suggest the Casio PX 130. I saw the demo on Kraft music and it sounded pretty good but I am no expert so what do I know. I would like some advice from someone that owns or has played this piano and give me there opinions. Kraft music is offering a home bundle that has the stand, piano bench, the 3 pedals, headphones etc for $699.95 with free shipping. That sounds like a pretty good deal.

Denverdave,
Have you tried the PX-130 or any other digital piano and decided you like it enough to buy it? If not, you need to start there. Buying sight unseen is a bad idea.

As for the PX-130 itself, it is a decent digital piano for someone who is looking for primarily good piano sound. The 4 layer piano sample is nice. If you want more sounds, or accompaniment, look at something else.

The Kraft bundle is typical of their packages. They're giving you the piano, stand, bench, dust cover, and headphones for $600. The AC adapter and a cheap pedal come with the piano so they are not throwing those things in. The piano retails for $499, the stand is about another $100, the bench, headphones, and dust cover make up the balance. Casio makes an optional three pedal unit that attaches to their stands that runs between $70-$90. Hope this helps

I went and played the PX-130 and decided it's the one I will be getting. It's got a nice piano sound, and that's the only one I'm interested in. But the advice to go play it is good: as has been noted here, the action is a bit heavy (fine with me, but maybe not you) and has the sensation of being sluggish, if you're paying attention (while I was playing it, I didn't notice.) These are things you need to experience, yourself, I think.

The PX130 sells everywhere for 499 but it's common to get a "$50 off anything in the store" coupon from Sam Ask or Guitar Canter. then the price is $450.
You can buy a simple "x stand" for about $35 or a better one for $50.
Benches sell for $40 and most people will already have headphones.
