I am new to the piano world and considering buy a 5'8" Disklavier C-2 Mark IV. They are asking $25,000 for this piano and I think I could get it for about $20,000. I would like other people's opinion on what it is worth if in perfect condition and what to be careful of before buying. I have done lots of research and this is my last bit before I make a decision. Any advice would be much appreciated.

That period was a transition period from one model player to another. Can you identify the specific model player? Mark II, Mark IIXG, Mark III, Mark IIIA?

Innisfree,
What is the age or serial number of the piano in question? I could sware that before you edited your original post, you stated it was from 1999. No Mark IV's in 1999.

If it really is a C2 Mark IV, then I'd say you're getting a pretty good price at $25k (though of course, less is always better). Other factors would be the overall condition of the of the piano: casework, hammers, action, etc.
