Did you ever hit a wrong note that sounded good?

I've added a lot of new licks to my bag of tricks by accidentally playing something that sounded good and then practicing how to do it on purpose.

Happy birthday, Joe! smile

I hit wrong notes all the time, but most of the time they sound awful. eek

But one time I remember vividly is when I was learning a piece by Stanton Lanier, "Contentment," and I completely misread one of notes (one of those tricky low ledger line notes), and I misplayed it for several weeks before I recognized the error. But the mistaken note sounded pretty darned good, and even after I noticed the mistake, I waffled between playing it the "right" way vs. playing it the mistaken way.

I do hear wrong notes that I like, but I can't quite figure out how to reproduce them when I need them frown

Joe - you might, uh, want to, er, visit the piano bar smile

Well I'm semi-dyslexic (if there is such a medically signed off term). Sometimes I'm happily playing Cs and Es and its supposed to be Es and Gs or something similar.

Thankfully
(a) it's not given as much trouble as I thought it would when I took up Piano and
(b) most of the time it still sounds good (lol)
