Man, look at this gal wailing on her B-3 organ and those feet play bass lines in near light speed. And another B-3 jam with Rhoda Scott and just a drummer. Plus Barb's "Swing The Blonds."

Yeah, Barb wails on that B-3 and her footwork on those bass pedals is awesome! Her B3-or C-3 Hammond organ has been rebuilt to her custom specs. Many other listeners have tried to find out what MIDI mods she hashed stashed in the 'black box' and it has to be a good piano module with vibes. She does a lot of vibes solos.

Her footwork is unsurpassed and she is in a class by herself on that skill.
Her videos are all over youtube, check some out

PS, she's foxy as well, hehe

Looks like she uses that box to house her bass sound module. It sounds like an upright bass on "Hot Stuff"

Also, you must check this out. Her duet with Rhonda Scott. Out of this world: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ra4kYAYCdeI

Yep Othello, the link to Barb and Rhoda Scott are linked on the beginning thread.

Man, if the pedal magic is in those shoes of hers, where can I get some. Jimmy Smith was also god on the pedals but Barb's footwork is something to behold

Speaking of adding modules to B3's, a friend of mine is going to have me build him a B3 and he has purchased the components to add MIDI to both manuals. It will be done without sacrificing any drawbars.

I can't wait to get started on it - I want to see if it turns out like he thinks it will.

Wow, great stuff, love it!

Reminds me of the late great Virgil Fox playing Middelshulte's pedal solo...

It also reminds me of a little story (stop rolling your eyes)...

Many years ago I was working for a full line music store in Lynn, MA.
I happened to be playing a big Yamaha organ (I think it was something like EX42) when a man walked in.

He waited patiently while I did my thing, then asked if he might try it.
I said sure, and gave him the seat.

He warmed up a little, then played Flight of the Bumblebee ... as a pedal solo!
His name was Richard Elsassar (sp?), and he was once one of the most highly regarded classical organist around.

Ken, let us know how the mod comes out.

In Vancouver BC we had the thrill of working with Robbie King. He died a couple of years ago, but hee's a link to the first of six videos of an interview with a person I regard as extremely gifted. It will be onvious to viewers that he was not withour problems, but the musial facility and range he exhibits is astounding. Enjoy starting at:
