I always bite my tongue when I see posts claiming that we allow sock puppets on here. Quite the contrary, we do all we can to eliminate them.

The new forum software has been a great help in this regard. It automatically sends PM's to me, Frank B., and BB Player every time a suspected sock signs in. When we get them, we do all we can to verify that the member is a sock puppet before taking action. But we do take action.

Today I received one of those PM's and after some due diligence it has resulted in three members being banned.

Those members are:
fong ll
M&B
Kurtmen

Looking through fong ll's posts was the final thing that convinced me that somebody had some 'splainin to do.

I hate having to ban people and I almost didn't post this, but I thought it was time to remind anyone inclined to play games what will happen if they do.

Ken

EDIT by Ken: Kurtman has provided an explanation as to why his sign-in appeared from the same IP address as the others.

A sock puppet is a person who creates more than one identity for him/her self on the forum. Generally the motive is deception.

Out of the 3 banned, I thought Kurtmen has always been pretty clear on who he is, even in his profile.

Ken, do you mind clarifying that one ?

Thx

He is clear on who he is.

However, you'll notice fong ll pretends to be a consumer. A consumer not good at English. fong ll recently posted that he got a great deal at the store where Kurtmen works. Information I have indicates that all three people are the same person.

That's why all three got banned. Like Pianomadam.

Good grab, Ken. A dealer's sock shilling for the dealer. That's a banning offense.

carne piano is good dealer [Yeah, I suppose so since it's the dealer who is posting about himself!], I got good deal on my seiler piano there, I think in san jose that is the only dealr.

Multiple personality disorder works in a court of law. Why not here? grin I'll miss M&B, but it's kind of a moot point since he hadn't posted here in a long long time. Maybe M&B was undergoing therapy.

It's hard to take Fong II seriously as a sales tool. C'mon! Who's going to follow Fong's advice?

My guess is that Fong II was born on a slow afternoon in the showroom as a kind of creative comic way to vent about a certain customer profile.

Dang! I was just started to enjoy Fung's posts. Looked at M&B and Kurtmen's posts too. I do see the pattern smile

Didn't know pianomadam was banned. Her (or his) posts were very tasty as well!

I am sorry about Kurtmen--- and surprised.

It was less surprising when Piano Madam was peached--- let's leave it at that.

Personally, I scarcely have enough identity to keep one user account going.

I am sorry about him too. That's the toughest part a lot of the time. When it affects people you like.

Now the question is "did the dealership know"? Scott McBain came here with a promise of honesty. How could/Kurtman/M&B/fong operate for so long without the knowledge of the dealership?
