I have a Privia PX-330. I want to use the Yamaha sustain pedal I have. I believe it's the FC-3 or FC-4. It's the one that has a rubber flap on the bottom that swings out to step on it. That way the pedal never moves or slips. I can't use it with the PX-330 for some reason. I'm guessing it's just a different polarity. Does anyone know: A) How to to tell if it's just a polarity issue? B) How do I hack/modify the Yamaha pedal I have to work with the PX-330?

Not sure about that particular pedal, but I have done this on a Roland pedal.

If when you plug the pedal into the Privia, the sustain is on, and goes off when the pedal is depressed, the wiring of the switch inside needs to be changed from 'Normally Closed', to Normally Open' or vise versa.

You should see the insulated wire soldered to a small piece of circuit board. Written on the board, will be 'NO' and 'NC'

Just unsolder the wire, and connect it to the other contact instead.

Does the piano 'sustain' when the pedal is NOT pushed down? ....and then stop sustaining when you push it down, the opposite of what it should be doing? ----One time i accidentally was pushing the pedal down before i turned on the yamaha keyboard i was playing and then the pedal did just that; sustained when not pushed down and stopped sustaining when released. So maybe you could try that. Press the pedal down and then turn on the unit. Maybe this will put it into reverse mode which for you will be the right way.
