I would like to hang a picture or two in the room where my piano resides, and would love to find some art with a piano theme of some sort. Any ideas?

Let the piano be the art. Arrange the room around the piano.

That's all I've got.

EHPianist has a wonderful print by a Spanish guy of a woman sitting on a piano.. it's something else. I'll see if i can contact her.

there is so much piano art out there.. i used to search ebay and art print places for piano art all the time on the net. Some day i might be a pianoart artist.. who knows?

I love this picture:

These artworks are very soft and pretty, so if you're going for masculine and modern then you wouldn't like it. I love what Willem Haenraets does though.

Framed old sheet music? The larger size ones have particularly nice covers.

Maybe several in a themed collage?

Along the same lines as framed sheet music, for a bit of nostalgia, framed covers of Etude magazine. Copies of Etude are on ebay all the time. It was aimed at piano teachers and serious amateurs and published for about 50 years (roughly 1900-1950?) The art work was usually quite nice. It often featured original composer portraits so you could do a collection of your favorites.

I personally love this one -sentimental though it is. It seems so tender. I love the dangling little feet.

I've often thought that if my piano were to "die" (cracked pinblock or something else catastrophic) some nice wrought iron or other vintage looking brackets would turn my lid and fallboard into nice wall shelves.

I'll figure it out eventually.
Until then you may want to keep a safe distance.

Thanks to all for all these great suggestions. I really liked the Juarez Machado pieces as well as the creative ideas.

We purchased a non piano painting this past summer but thought the artist, Stephen Charles Shortridge did some nice piano paintings. An example is below.
