Not sure this is the right forum for this question, but wondered if someone could recommend some Mac OS X-compatible software to work with my digital piano, perhaps to display written music on the computer screen for me to play and it checks for my accuracy or helps with fingering, etc.? Or it plays some orchestration/background and allows me to play the piano part? I have many years of piano lessons behind me, and can read music, I'm looking for something that would help me integrate my digital piano playing into more of an ensemble experience.

Thanks in advance!

Dave

You'd still need to find/buy midi files. Many educational piano books have midi file accompaniments available.

I don't know the details of these programs, but the following companies make Apple MIDI software that might include the capabilities you are looking for:

What about garage band? It came with my MacBook Pro. I'm both a new mac owner and new digital piano owner so I haven't tried the two together much yet, but I know it will integrate your piano sound with other instruments. There is also an instruction feature which I haven't tried at all yet. If I understand it right, it gives you some very basic instruction for free and then you pay for the more advanced instruction.
