We are in the market to buying a piano for our daughter and my wife just saw local ad that selling used Baldwin Upright model 662 and it was made in USA(1998). We are totally new in this market and would be very happy to know how much is the good price range on this particualr model.. The seller asked about 1800-1850.. is it a good deal?

Good Morning, and welcome to the forum. A lot depends on the condition of the piano, and that cannot be determined without it being inspected by a piano technician. If the piano checks out to be good, I'd say the price is reasonable. The 662 is a fancier version of the Baldwin Hamilton model 243. It's considered a very durable piano that has decent tone and action, and will hold it's tune well.

You can do a search of the forum under "Baldwin Hamilton" and find lots of helpful information as forum members have discussed this piano over the years.

Good luck....

Larry, I thought the furniture style Hamilton was the 5000 or 5050 series? If I remember correctly the 660 series is more like a classic console (not Acrosonic).

I thought that too until I found this information:

Brand: Baldwin
Model: 662
Type: Consoles
Finish: Queen Anne Cherry
Width (in inches): 57.25
Height (in inches): 43.5
Depth (in inches): 24.5
Group: 600 Series
Description: The 600 series is designed for those who desire the tone and touch of the Hamilton 243HPA model with the addition of fine furniture styling.

I got this from this website. http://www.frankandcamilleseast.com/pianoDetail.cfm?modelNumber=662

It's possible their information is incorrect.
