Hi!

I wonder if you belive that it is possible to disturb your neighbors with the hard action on the FP7, which creates vibrations down to the floor. It sounds like you're hammering and I'm worried about how this appears on the other side of the wall. I also have to say that I do have the original stand for this model, which makes it heavy as well

I too have the Roland FP7 and although it is sitting on a carpetted concrete floor my wife tells me it sounds terrible upstairs, especially if I wear headphones. When I do she hears the key action but there is no music!!

Hi!

I think this is a big problem actually, do you have the original stand as well or just a common X one?

I recently got the Casio PX330 and i think it also has a hard clop to the keys. If i have the headphones on as i usually do i don't notice it but if playing quietly over the speakers it's a little irritating and my roommates have commented on the sound since i'm usually playing with headphomes and all they hear is the thunk. Are there brands that do not do this? It sounds like roland and casio are among those that do. Is this typical of all the rolands by the way?

I hate to say it but I think that it is going to happen with all hammer action digital pianos. Back in the day I lived in a apartment on the third floor. I had a nice Yamaha P-200. Every morning at 6 a.m. I would practice for about an hour before work. After a few days of getting my Yamaha, every time I practiced, I heard a thumping on my floor. It was my neighbor who lived in the second floor apartment. She must've been banging on the ceiling with a broom stick or something. I thought to myself, "How can she hear this. I have on headphones and my floor was carpeted with a thick padding and everything." The thumps must've transmitted through the floor. I added a thick bath rug but it didn't stop her from banging on the ceiling. She never did knock on my door and talk to me about it though.

I never did break, I was true to my piano. I just ignored her thumping and I liked to antagonize this snobby little chick. She was cute but she made a lot of noise herself in the evenings when she'd have a half dozen people over twice a week for Bible study, playing Christian sing-alongs on her acoustic guitar with everyone singing. She deserved the morning wake up thump....
