Thanks Currawong, should the pianist play the bass part with the cello? I do have the piano/vocal score.

It turns out it is, but I had to look it up.

You just go to print, and instead of selecting a printer you select the .pdf maker. This isn't included with noteworthy because most people have one loaded already. If you don't, there is discussion of various freeware that works on the Noteworthy Forum here http://my.noteworthysoftware.com/

Hope this helps.

I would - it will increase security for both, and it was usual in the period for harpsichord and bass instrument both to play the bass line.

Thanks Currawong. I have the orchestra score now it saves me from having to write out the bass line and violin part. The piano/vocal version is actually quite condensed (as it should be). It doesn't supply the line of both violins and viola, it seems to just have the top violin and occassionly chords that fill all three parts.

Other than that did you get into chamber music yourself?

Mine and my husband's students love the ensembles, I like to think of them as a highlight. It helps the pianists see some of the other roles pianists can play, and gives them a social experience (and for the younger students, give them a model of what good playing on other instruments sounds like), I always have duets, a couple of times I've had trios, and this year I will have a clarinet ensemble of 7 people, of various playing levels.
