It's Fun to Play the Piano ... Please Pass It On!
Barb and Angelo - what a beautiful performances of the song, and very different and individual. I loved it.
Rick, thank you for sharing another one of your treasures!
Peyton, wow. Beautiful song, excellent performance, great recording quality. Wow, what else can I say, other than this is a very professional performance.
I was not even ready for October piano bar... but here you go:
---my first exposure to Vladimir Rebikov (I 'consider' myself a classical piano player, and this is outside of my usual repertoire) - it is very simple but I loved it.
Tatiana, that was a very beautiful piece and you played it perfect. I haven't heard of Rebikov before so it is nice to hear and learn about a new composer. Well done!
My October Piano Bar submission is from my favorite part of a movie I like very much - Back To the Future 1. I was trying for a big finish so I enlisted the help of the Roland Symphony Orchestra on the last verse.
Bill -- Earth Angel - You know how to tug at my heart strings. I love the movie, love the song, and love the way you played and sang it. I am just in love here.
Great job.
Barb

Okay, guys, when the October piano bar thread is at TWO FREAKIN' PAGES already and it's not even October yet, you know there's a lot of great piano going on in AB forum.
First, all those Misty's: I really enjoyed hearing how the same exact melody could come across so differently depending on the voicing and tempo used. Thanks, Angelo and Barb!
Larry, how long does it take you to compose a piece? You keep producing these beautiful songs. How do you decide on a name, incidentally? Before or after you've finished the piece?
And then we had Peyton and Rickster ratcheting up the beat considerably with their pieces... that was perfect music to listen to on a late afternoon when I'm starting to drag.
...but before I got too wired, I was able to listen to Tatiana's Rebikov piece and mellow out again. Is he a contemporary composer?
Hello Barb,I just listened to Misty and is very sound, I thank you for your advice on Sudnow. I spoke to my tacher about chord voiceing and he is going to show me how after my grade 3 exam in december. Yours Al.

Monica,
Rebikov is a Russian composer who died in 1920. His music is considered to be impressionistic (I hope I am using the right term). You can find quite a few pieces composed by Rebikov at IMSLP
The piece I played was one of the easiest from the Celebration Series Grade 6 book. It only took me ~3-4 days to learn and record - it is very simple and good for beginners.
Hi Peyton, nice piece, well played. I also listened to Larry's Desert Flower, another well played piece. I am very impressed with the piano playing of the members of Piano World, keep up the good work.
Tatiana, very lovely… grade 7++ (you have beautiful hands)!
Rick,
You made me smile again. Thank you so much for the kind compliment - in my 40 years of life that is the first time someone made such comment about my hands You should have seen these hands digging dirt, pulling weeds, or digging potatoes (I have a hobby farm) - they do not look as neat as I'd hope then...
